Juicing inspiration

With the promise of spring, now is a good time to dust off our juicers. Here is a recipe for you to try.

I like this because it’s not too sweet, is filling, smells wonderful and tastes delicious. A bit like Goldilocks on her quest for the best porridge, a delicious juice can be take some trial and error experimenting with the recipe until it’s ‘just right’.

Juices are easily absorbed in the body, provide insoluble fibre (reducing blood sugar spikes) and this one has avocado and brazil nuts: both sources of high quality fats which will make you feel full and satiated. Start soaking some Brazil nuts now and you can be drinking this juice tomorrow.

Juice
1/4 cucumber
2 celery stalks
2 apples
1/4” ginger root
a slice of lemon (rind on)
a handful of spinach

Use a hand-held blender to mix into the juice
6 Brazil nuts (soaked 6 hours or overnight)
1/2 avocado
